Observation details
I saw the first flight at 6:24 two minutes after I arrived on the Northwest end of the wetland. Shortly after I saw the bird fly around the perimeter of the wetland as I took a video. The Owl then landed on a post pretty far up the road. We slowly crept up to the post it was on and the Owl didn’t flush even when we viewed it right off the road from the safety of the car. As it sat here and looked around I got some excellent photos that were better than expected and a short video of the Owl turning its head. Soon after a car zipped past us and the owl on the side of the road it was on and it flew back into the grass further out. I heard hoots in rhythm and I saw another bird join it. After more birders arrived we waited a bit and it flew around the perimeter again this time viewed with my scope. Awesome looks at an uncommon Owl!
