Observation details
Continuing overwintering individual. Large warbler, olive on head, back, and uppertail coverts; back is plain and unmarked; underparts are extensively yellow, brightest on throat and middle of breast and marked with olive streaking on sides and flanks, heaviest at the shoulder; face weakly patterened with yellowish supercilium and eye crescents that contrast weakly with dark lores and a darker olive auricular that is set off below by brighter yellow below that wraps beneath from sides of throat; wing panel has two bold wingbars, median and greater coverts grayish to blackish and tipped broadly with white; primaries and upper tail similarly colored grayish to blackish; belly and lower flanks dingy whitish with obscure streaks on flanks; outer rectrices clean white to tip excepting a narrow grayish base. Eye dark, bill grayish-black, legs longish (noticable when standing in tall grass). Bill stout and heavy for a warbler. Singing with moderate energy but infrequently - a trill; also a more frequent soft chip.
