Observation details
Continuing rarity. Mostly seen on its 5 mph buoy slightly north of east from Loew’s. We observed several behaviors. Chilling, flying, diving, floating, preening, foraging, and feeding. The latter two appear to be distinct. Shortly after it was first seen, it regurgitated a fish onto the buoy, and one picture shows it standing over its prize with a morsel in its beak. Then it foraged for a while without obvious success before returning to the buoy for some preening.
