Observation details
With Snow Goose flock along Hannegan Rd about 1000' south of Polinder Rd. First seen flying from the west part of Bylsma Rd and noticed that it was smaller than SNGO with a shorter neck, then I went over to Hannegan Rd to get a better view of the flock and confirm if it was a Ross's or a Hybrid. After searching for about 45 minutes I relocated it at the far end of the flock about 2000' away. Got great scope views but it was very difficult to photograph as it kept moving through the flock and keeping its head down to feed. Viewing conditions were pretty good with good light and a little haze. About 2/3 the size of SNGO, shorter neck. Bill was short and stubby, no grin patch which was easily visible on the nearby SNGO, grayish patch on base of bill. Clean white head with no rusty staining. The distant photos are pretty useless but might be helpful in showing the size compared to the SNGO. State lifer!
