Observation details
Seen and heard along the trail to Ton Deng waterfall: a beautiful little flycatcher with orange throat and upper breast and white lower breast and belly; slate gray face and crown, black underside of tail, tail somewhat short, primaries appeared dark brown, black "flycatcher bill" (thin, straight, not long); behavior: called repeatedly-ticking notes (calls were recorded); the tail was generally tucked down, but slowly lifted up when calling; perched overhead about 4 m above the ground in riparian forest; seen from below with somewhat backlit conditions for at least one minute.
