NOTES: (Second Recordist: A.L. [name not specified]. Breeding Status: Territorial paired. General Climate: Dry. Cover Density: Medium.) Originally identified as Pipilo chlorurus, Green-tailed Towhee, with 80% confidence in the identification. Identification was changed to Rufous-crowned Sparrow, per comments from Murray Berner and Jessie Barry. Call often heard from Rufous-crowned Sparrows on territory, a common breeder in this location. Green-tailed Towhee does not breed at this locality, therefore, ID was changed. -JHBarry 2 Sept 2010. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Coniferous Forest, Deciduous Forest, Creek, Desert, Thicket/Brush.
