Observation details
Perching on dead tree over water - Island View Hide. Cape Wagtails (Motacilla capensis) are a common resident, and are often seen on the fringes of wetlands in Southern Africa. The sexes are alike. This adult Wagtail was preening, perched on a dead tree in the lake at Island View Hide in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve.
