Observation details
Adults and immatures feeding on mown road verge; in one case perched in dead tree, being fed. Pied Starlings (Lamprotornis bicolor) are reasonably common in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve. These videos show a courting pair in a dead tree, with one being fed by the other, and an adult catching and eating caterpillars on a mown road verge.
