Observation details
First seen attempting to catch a thermal just south of 120th. Then after picking up some wind quickly moved south. Tom Beeke and I pursued the bird to 118th, where it was seen again soaring just above 59th Ave. We were able to see the eagle well here as well as compare it to 3 Bald Eagles. Finally it went into a stop and lost. We encountered the Eagle again for a 3ed time on 116th where it was settling with 2 Bald Eagles. When first seen we almost overlooked the Eagle as a TUVU. I noticed a flash of white on the tail, which drew my interest. Juvenile bird with white tail band and white underwing patches. Small head and bill with bulging primaries. Golden nape occasionally visible in the right light. Photos.
