NOTES: (Breeding Status: Territorial paired. Gen. Climate: Arid. Gen. Habitat: Mountain ridge. Cover Density: Medium. Strata: Song perch.) [Recordist states on tape that it is a Summer Tanager.] Recordist doesn't recalll, nor have any other record of, having seen any P. rubra on the Chiracahua expedition. In all probability, he misspoke and should have said "Western Tanager" P. ludoviciana. R.S. Little 3-12-01. [I moved this recording from P. rubra, Cut 20, to P. ludoviciana, Cut 39. MF 13 Apr 2001. BNA: The Song is heard. CZ 06/07/2004. Response to playback: Different song. Habitat: Forest, Coniferous Forest, Deciduous Forest, Montane Grassland.
