Observation details

Continuing bird. First seen swimming in mixed raft of gulls about 100yds out in front of the observation deck Then followed off and on throughout the morning while it visited the small island and flew over to the waste treatment structure several times. First winter type medium sized gull, which somewhat recalls Ring-billed, but with small blue/gray pointy bill with black tip and dark eye look. Brownish dingy patterning to the head and nape, with more intense smudging towards the belly below. Frosty brown coverts, barred tail base, dull grayish legs. Extended views with 8x42s and 20x80 scope. Photographed.
