Observation details
A single flock of at least 8 birds. Several singing and calling at times (flute-like song). Possibly as many as 10-12 birds on the levee (short grass) and alongside the rice field. Eastern meadowlarks also heard singing in the area for comparison. Recording made with phone but very poor quality due to wind noise and distance to the birds. Lighter overall coloring than Eastern Meadowlarks (some birds appeared VERY pale in the green grass). Images provided don't show it well, but some yellow can be seen extending into the malar region.
