Observation details
After initially posting this as a Brown Thrasher, which would be the expected species here, it was suggested that multiple field marks on this bird were a better match for Long-billed Thasher. It's hard to be certain what are true colors and what are artifacts of the light, but this bird does appear to have a very gray (rather than brown) face and the streaks are very dark blackish with no hint of brown. In one shot it looks like the streaks *may* extend beyond the flanks to the undertail coverts. Finally, the bill appears fairly strongly curved compared to the often straighter bills of Brown Thrashers. Approximate location: 30.034628, -97.222047 (opposite side of road from the pecan orchard).
