Observation details
When we stopped to take a look at the Sandhills I was shocked to see a Common Grackle (in perfect lighting)! It was hanging out with a flock of GTGR. Directions: While riding along Arlington Canal Rd, towards the west, the COGR was near the last house on the left (south) side of the road before hitting Arlington School Rd. This area is approximately a sixth of a mile east of the Arlington School Rd/Arlington Canal Rd intersection. Unmistakable in the lighting that I saw it in. Shiny blue head, golden body and back, smaller than nearby GTGRs but larger than BRBL, shorter and smaller tail than GTGR, it actually resembled BRBL more than GTGR.
