Observation details
To say there were thousands of Waders is by no means an exaggeration, and the Stints were the best example of this!! The flats of the waters' edge SEETHED with their multitudes, a constant field of little white blobs, and many were congregated in little camps amongst the succulents, the groups near to but still clearly distinct from their Red Cap friends. It was most remarkable of all, though, when they all took flight... and I do mean all of them. The sound of a thousand pairs of wings shushing together as they careened this way and that... it was quite genuinely breathtaking, a memory I won't forget in a hurry!!!
