Observation details
This ongoing rarity was seen by probably all 30 people present. Its beak was more pointed than the White-crowned Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos it was with. The breast and throat were an ochre yellow, it had a dark band across the eyes, a dark cap, and a pale ochre yellow supercilium. Its back looked similar in markings to the sparrows it was with.
