Observation details
Long distance shot with harsh backlight under a heavy canopy. I could only see the silhouette of the bird. Looking through the lens, all I knew was it was a kingfisher due to the size & shape of the bill. I also was intrigued by the faint orange colour of the bill (as most common kingfishers in the area have black bills), likewise the bright bluish colour of the wings & back. In some of the images I took, a very small portion of the white throat is visible. This made me more determined to take a picture so I can document my report to ebird.org.
