Observation details
Very exciting to find not one, not two, but three fresh basic-plumaged birds mixed in with Bar-tailed Godwit and Great Knot. Similar in size to godwit, but visibly shorter-legged and slightly longer-winged. Pure black legs, and long, broad-tipped bill with a pale base to lower mandible. Bright white lores lead into supercilium, and upperparts cool sandy grey with very crisp pale edging to scapulars.
