Observation details
*Rare upstate* Found at south end of pond. When I arrived, I heard a low "churchurchurchur". I thought it was a Carolina Wren, but the noise came from a small thicket of dogwood/goldenrod/aster, where I don't usually see the wrens. I waited for about 30 seconds and watched the twigs jiggling, then out popped the Chat. It was feeding on berries in a semi-open bit. I rushed back home (across the street) to email the list-serv, then returned with my camera. The bird had moved a few feet, but I was able to get some photos and a video: video: http://picasaweb.google.com/EdgarAllenHoopoe/YellowBreastedChatOctober2?feat=directlink When I returned to the spot later, I could neither hear nor see the bird.
