Media notes
Dominant plant: Canarian Pine. "rain call" (and songs). Party of 3 birds, assumed to be 1 male, 2 females, watched for about 20 minutes along roadside on western road up Mount Teide. Behaviour included pair-chasing; much time was spent foraging on the ground as well as from short twigs in the pines. Birds were usually fairly widely separated while foraging. The male sang, usually from a perch near the top of a branch 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up a pine, but had several other songs sites. The call note I described at the time as a liquid, double-noted chirp and was given by all the birds. Habitat: Montane, Deciduous Forest, Roadside. Equipment Notes: Panasonic IC2120.
