Media notes
Low-pitched frog-like croaks, "wrank wrank". While recording a bittern at night in this swamp I also picked up these sounds which I presumed for frogs. Next morning, I saw two White-faced Herons fly low over the swamp and utter the same sounds. I played it back immediately and was convinced. It sounds very much like the introduced Australian Golden Bell Frog, but is more guttural. Compare with Ward's recording of this frog species in the ML collection.
