Recordist's note: Two bird present, seemed that only one was vocalizing. Beginning of recording contains soft sporadic "hoot" calls until 07:08, then mostly louder "croak" and "wail" calls are heard until bird takes flight at 35:22; thereafter, mostly distant hoot calls again until bird again takes flight, producing audible flight sounds (37:38), then lands (38:25) and resumes giving "hoot" calls until end of recording. Splashing sounds heard periodically throughout recording are from focal birds. ML: 100Hz AUHipass filter applied in soundBlade HD. Two birds present, only one vocalizes on recording (likely male). Other Behaviors: Take Flight. Habitat: Boreal/Taiga, Lake.
