Grey Monjita handling a captured prey on the ground, grassland savannah. Taken at 10:14h with a Nikon D7000 camera + TC20EIII teleconverter + Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 AF-S VR (= 600mm f/5.6) + Bushawk stock mount; ISO 250, f/9 at 1/400s; no flash used, ~ 10-20% cropped. Sequence showing the handling of a captured Parahormetica sp. cockroach, natural grassland savannah ("campo limpo"). Top: the cockroach is still intact with the "armoured" head; Middle: beating up the prey in the ground to kill it and remove harder parts; Bottom: the cockroach now is without the armoured head, just the succulent abdomen which is ready to be swallowed. Elevation: 733 m. Date added to IBC: June 21, 2016.
