A female booming in a pumpkin field near Sidi Ahbed, a costal locality between El Jadida and Oualidia. During the spring of.....2009 a methodical search led to the discovery of an spot where several birds were breeding (see a detailed report in Dutch Birding 33(2)). One of the very few spots inside Western Palearctic where this species still remains. In 2013 they are still breeding in the same area. Species in the first part of the recording are Quail (Coturnix coturnix), Collared Pratincole (Glareola pratincola), Zitting Cisticola (Cisticola juncidis) and Sardinian Warbler (Sylvia melanocephala), which are also on the background when the female Buttonquail is booming.
