Observation details
An immature bird seen as it flew low overhead heading North and then reappeared shortly after heading South and gaining elevation. One decent photo. Banded Tail (pale and dark, not black and white like an adult), whit black tips to the underside of the flight feathers and black outer primaries "framing" the wing in black. Underside of the wing was pale (aside from black border), providing high level of contrast. Dark moustachial stripes clearly visible. This is still within the window of time when this species tends to occur in New Mexico during fall migration. All three of the individuals I've seen this fall have been in close proximity to the Rio Grande (two actually over the river itself).
