Observation details
Found by Steve Gerow earlier this morning. Located by repetitive 'whit' calls. Small drab grayish Empid with white eye ring, two fairly strongly contrasting wing bars, pale whitish throat. Head appeared rounded or blocky but not crested or peaked. Rather small bill with yellowish base. Photographed. Feeding in conifer on south side of dirt track that crosses through riparian area on northwest corner of Arboretum near Empire Grade.
