Observation details
Probably the same bird as yesterday. But photos today! not that they are diagnostic. A bunch of people joined me this evening. Everybody walked away happy, I think. Except me. It definitely didn't put on as good a show as yesterday. And for that I was disappointed. It was all the more aggravating because within a minute of my arrival at 18:18 a suspicious swift flew into the chimney. Then maybe after 20 minutes it flew out. Then flew in. Then flew out. But being the only swift I didn't want to say anything. Then flew in. All the while not a Vaux's was in sight. Thankfully the bird in question flew out once more and by then the Vaux's had assembled and direct comparison was had for a very brief time. Maybe 2 minutes. But probably less. Every swift had flown into the chimney sometime shortly after 19:00. The weather today was quite different than Tuesday evening. Tuesday was cloudy and the birds flew in maybe 15 minutes earlier. This evening it was clear.
