A pair of Tree Martins at their nest in a steel roof girder. Tree Martins (Petrochelidon nigricans) are a common and widespread species, and are found throughout Australia. They are found in a range of habitats, but require trees with hollows for nesting, although they also use artificial crevices, and are often found in large numbers around human settlements. This pair of Tree Martins was nesting in a hollow steel roof truss in one of the guesthouses on Wooleen Station, in the semi-arid Murchison area of mid- Western Australia. Elevation: 293 m. Date added to IBC: July 2, 2019.
