Media notes
A Western Bowerbird eating dates. Western Bowerbirds (Chlamydera guttata) range over a wide area of north-western Western Australia, with an apparently disjunct population further east in the south-western Northern Territory. They are found in dry open eucalypt and acacia woodlands, usually not far from water. They often visit rural gardens, where they can become pests. This adult Western Bowerbird was eating the fruit of the introduced Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera) in the homestead garden at Wooleen Station in the semi-arid Murchison area of mid- Western Australia. Elevation: 293 m. Date added to IBC: July 2, 2019.
