A Red-kneed Dotterel standing on one leg in the shallows of Yewlands Pool. Red-kneed Dotterels (Erythrogonys cinctus) are widespread in Australia, and are only absent from the Nullarbor Plain and desert areas north of it. Several Red-kneed Dotterels were loafing and feeding in the shallows of Yewlands Pool on Wooleen Station in Western Australia’s semi-arid Murchison Region. This bird was standing on one leg, loafing at the water’s edge. Elevation: 293 m. Date added to IBC: July 1, 2019.
