Speckled Pigeons courting on a lawn in Wakkerstroom. Speckled Pigeons (Columba guinea) are common in rocky areas in sub-Sharan Africa, and are often associated with human habitations, where they become quite confiding. This male was putting lots of effort into courting his seemingly reluctant female on a lawn in Wakkerstroom in the South African highveld, cooing while he pursued her. Elevation: 1769 m. Date added to IBC: April 20, 2019.
