Media notes
A Western Shrike-tit gleaning for food as it hops through shrubs. The Western Shrike-tit (Falcunculus leucogaster) was recently separated from the similar species that occurs in south-eastern Australia. Sightings of Western Shrike-tits are eagerly sought by birders, and although the species is not rare, it is difficult to find. This Shrike-tit suddenly appeared in shrubs at the edge of the car park at the Bolganup picnic area in Porongurup National Park and allowed me to shoot some short video clips at it hopped through shrubs on the edge of the tall Karri (Eucalyptus diversicolor) forest. Elevation: 329 m. Date added to IBC: October 8, 2019.
