Media notes
Dark-eyed Junco immature calling near end of video. The Dark-eyed Junco (oreganus) is a common winter visitor, moving to higher elevations to breed. This year two adults stayed in my backyard and produced at least this one chick. The plumage of juvenile Juncos is very different from their adult feathering. They keep this brown streaked plumage for only three months, so identifying them away from their normal nesting area proves to be puzzling to many birders. Elevation: 138 m. Date added to IBC: July 4, 2018.
