Western Yellow Robin Chicks in nest - feeding. Sally found this beautifully camouflaged Western Yellow Robin nest in the fork of a sapling Jarrah tree (Eucalyptus marginata), only about 1.5 metres above the ground in Wandoo (Eucalyptus wandoo) woodland. The nest with two chicks was being attended by a female and two male ‘helpers’, who fed the nestlings at 5-15 minute intervals. We set up our tripods at a respectful distance from the nest, and the adult birds showed no signs of alarm. We followed the progress of the nestlings for over four weeks, until they fledged successfully. Elevation: 315 m. Date added to IBC: June 30, 2017.
