Media notes
Western Shrike-tit searching for food by tearing at bark with its hooked bill. Western Shrike-tits are a ‘must see’ species for Western Australian birders. They are not common, and are often foraging high in trees, and are hard to see well. We chanced upon this bird foraging low in a shrub on the edge of the road in the Boranup Karri (Eucalyptus diversicolor) forest, and only had some time to grab some shaky, hand-held video footage. Elevation: 97 m. Date added to IBC: June 30, 2017.
Observation details
IBC scientific name: Falcunculus leucogaster.
