Buff-banded Rail (Hypotaenidia philppensis mellori) foraging on grass. Buff-banded Rails are generally shy birds, skulking amongst vegetation on the margin of wetlands. The Penguin Island population is habituated to people, making viewing them easy. Elevation: 11 m. Date added to IBC: June 29, 2017.
