A female Pacific Black Duck preening with its ducklings nearby. Pacific Black Ducks (Anas superciliosa) are one of Australia’s most common waterbirds. They are often found on urban lakes and become very tame around people, often begging for food. This female Pacific Black Duck emerged on to the grassed bank at Herdsman Lake in Perth, Western Australia to preen while her ducklings rested on the grass. Elevation: 7 m. Date added to IBC: October 30, 2018.
