An Australian Owlet-nightjar peering from a tree hollow. The Australian Owlet-nightjar (Aegotheles cristatus) is a small nocturnal bird found across Australia. Owlet-nightjars are insectivorous, catching insects on the wing and on the ground. This Owlet-nightjar was sunning itself at the entrance to its tree hollow, where it spent the day. Elevation: 224 m.
