A male Burrowing Owl perching on road sign then flying off. The Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia) is a small diurnal owl found in open habitats in North and South America. This family of Burrowing Owls made their burrow on a traffic roundabout in the town of Comandante Andresito, on Provincial Route 19 in northern Argentina. The male was perching on the road sign on the roundabout, and then flew off. Elevation: 253 m. Date added to IBC: February 16, 2019.
