A male Burrowing Owl perching on road sign. The Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia) is a small diurnal owl found in open habitats in North and South America. This family of Burrowing Owls made their burrow on a traffic roundabout in the town of Comandante Adresito, on Provincial Route 19 in northern Argentina. The male was perching on the road sign on the roundabout. Elevation: 266 m. Date added to IBC: February 16, 2019.
