A Black-fronted Dotterel standing - head bobbing. Black-fronted Dotterels (Elseyornis melanops) is widespread in Australia and is often seen on the margins of shallow wetlands or as in this case a roadside puddle! This confiding adult was hunting for small invertebrates in a puddle at a truck stop at the Billabong Roadhouse on the North West Coastal Highway in Western Australia. Elevation: 145 m.
