Non-breeding Red-necked Stints foraging on a tidal flat, then flying off. Non-breeding Red-necked Stints (Calidris ruficollis) migrate to Australia in the southern summer from Siberia and Alaska. They are found around the Australian coast on tidal mudflats, salt marshes, beaches, saline and freshwater wetlands. They feed on a range of small invertebrates and sometimes on seeds. This small flock of Red-necked Stints was feeding on the tidal flats of Wellstead Estuary at Bremer Bay on the south coast of Western Australia. Elevation: 0 m. Date added to IBC: March 12, 2019.
