Media notes
Two-banded Plovers feeding on cobbles and algal wrack. Two-banded Plovers (Charadrius falklandicus) are found in southern Argentina, Chile and the Falkland Islands. In the Falklands they are common in Diddle-dee heath, near freshwater ponds and on beaches where they hunt for flies and other small invertebrates amongst decaying algal wrack. This small group of plovers was feeding on the beach at Lafonia Point, Bleaker Island. Elevation: 1 m. Date added to IBC: February 8, 2019.
