A Dark-faced Ground-Tyrant perching on gate, preening. The Dark-faced Ground-Tyrant (Muscisaxicola m. maclovianus) is the only flycatcher occurring on the Falkland Islands. It is also found in the southern Andes region of Chile and Argentina. On the Falklands it is most commonly seen around settlements – in gardens and often on beaches where it feeds on small invertebrates such as flies and small moths. This Ground-Tyrant was perched on a gate post in the Bleaker Island Settlement preening. Elevation: 8 m. Date added to IBC: February 8, 2019.
