A pair of Silvery Grebes swimming rapidly, then diving. Silvery Grebes (Podiceps occipitalis) are fairly common on freshwater ponds in Patagonia. This pair was swimming rapidly near the edge of the road in Laguna Kilometro 92 on Ruta 9 between Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales in southern Chile. Elevation: 22 m. Date added to IBC: February 7, 2019.
