Media notes
A pair of Straw-necked Ibises probing with their bills. The Straw-necked Ibis (Threskiornis spinicollis)is one of three species of ibises that occur in Australia. They occur widely across the continent and are found in all but the driest deserts. Straw-necked Ibises adapt well to human developments and are often seen probing the soil for the invertebrates they eat in farmland and in urban parks. These two were probing with their bills for food in grassed parkland on the south side of Herdsman Lake, near Perth. Elevation: 7 m. Date added to IBC: July 13, 2018.
