Media notes
A Silver Gull with its large chick in dune vegetation on Penguin Island. The Silver Gull (Chroicocephalus (or Larus) novaehollandiae) is Australia’s most common gull species – its populations have increased markedly since the 1950s, mainly because of its habit of scavenging food from public places and garbage tips. In Western Australia, Silver Gulls breed on limestone islands off the coast of Perth. Elevation: 11 m. Date added to IBC: July 13, 2018.
