A flock of Scaly-headed Parrots eating grass. Scaly-headed Parrots (Pionus maximiliani) are fairly common, and occur in eastern Brazil, eastern and central Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina. Scaly-headed Parrots are found in a variety of wooded habitats – these birds are part of a flock of about 50 eating grass roots on the lawn of the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas in Iguacu National Park, Brazil in the early morning. Elevation: 214 m. Date added to IBC: February 20, 2019.
