A male Rufous-collared Sparrow perching and calling. Rufous-collared Sparrows (Zonotrichia capensis) are found throughout South America and are absent only from the Amazon Basin. There are many named subspecies – this one belongs to the race subtorquata that occurs from south and central Brazil to Paraguay, north-east Argentina and Uruguay. Elevation: 214 m.
