Media notes
A Greater Kiskadee perching on an antenna, then flying off. Greater Kiskadees (Pitangus sulphuratus) range from southern Texas south to southern Brazil, north-eastern Argentina and Paraguay. They are the largest species of Tyrant flycatcher, and occupy a wide range of habitats. Greater Kiskadees catch insects in flight, eat some fruit and sometimes catch small fish and tadpoles – an unusual behaviour in passerine birds. This Greater Kiskadee was perched on an antenna on the roof of the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas in Iguaçu National Park in Brazil. Elevation: 214 m. Date added to IBC: February 17, 2019.
